Satellite Data Provider

Satellite images offer a powerful and efficient method for gathering spatial information about the planet.

By virtue of their distance from Earth, satellites can cover a wider range of an area in one single image than traditional aerial photography. Furthermore, developments in technology have enabled newer satellites to be equipped with more powerful sensors resulting in a higher image resolution than previously available.

Ikonos Satellite Image Digital Elevation Modelling

TIP has proven itself to be a leading satellite imagery provider in the South-East Asia region, offering a complete suite of data from optical and non-optical satellites, including:

Quickbird

Quickbird is currently the satellite with the highest image resolution available commercially. Launched in October, 2001, Quickbird is owned by Digital Globe.

Ikonos

Ikonos provides one of the highest image resolution available commercially. Ikonos records four channels of multispectral data at 4 metre resolution and one panchromatic channel with 1 metre resolution. Ikonos is owned by Space Imaging.

Spot

Five SPOT satellites have been put into orbit since its initial launch in 1986. SPOT provides medium to high-resolution images of the earth.

Landsat

The Landsat series of satellites have been providing high-quality multi-spectral data since 1972.

Radarsat

RADARSAT is an active-sensor satellite. It is capable of penetrating cloud, rain, dust and haze and therefore useful for collecting data where persistent cloud cover or poor illumination hamper the collection of data by optical sensors. Since it’s an active-sensor satellite, Radarsat is capable of acquiring images both during the day as well as during the night.
